PhD Position at Miltenyi Biotec as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (ITN)

Your Role:

  • At Miltenyi, we highly value research and the development of new products which make innovative progress in the fight against cancer.
  • Your focus will be set on anti-cancer responses of natural killer (NK) cells, the manufacturing of genetically modified NK cells and their application in the therapy of leukemia and other forms of cancer.
  • In order to achieve outstanding research results and to simplify your work, you will have access to the entire Miltenyi Biotec portfolio.
  • Your research will be part of a newly formed ITN focusing on MATURE NK (MAnufacturing of TUmour-REactive Nature Killer cells), in collaboration with academic and industry partners in the NK cell field:

  • The training program will include research training in the individual laboratories with regular exchange between the laboratories and six Summer/Winter Schools including workshops and training courses in bioinformatics, priority rights and biotech business. Fellowships will run for 3 years and start between September 2018 and May 2019.

Your Profile:

  • You have a master’s degree or diploma in biology, biotechnology or molecular medicine.
  • You are experienced in cell biology, cell separation and cell cultivation, ideally NK cell biology. 
  • You are inspired by automated cell processing technics and have ideally gained experiences with flow cytometry.
  • You are excited to convert your own creative ideas into development projects and thereby drive innovative immune cellular therapy to the next level.
  • Candidates should not have studied or worked in Germany for more than 12 months within the last three years.
